This view is from the upstairs porch. It shows the maple tree which may or may not make it. It’s planted too close to the house. More pics to come from the renovation. Pat plans to spend much time on this porch watching sunrises and having quiet time here. Coffee is not optional.

Dreams of sunset views from a twin bed swing is definitely what inspired us to expand our master porch. Jordan’s promise to build the swing inspired us even more.
One of the unique features about the house is the cantilevered porch. A cantilever is a beam anchored at only one end. Cantilever construction allows for overhanging structures without external bracing. Jerrel and some of his men jumped up and down on the porch, and they felt like the beams were not as sturdy as they could be, possibly because the beams may not have been long enough. Usually if a porch is say eight feet deep, the cantilever is double that depth. Jerrel decided to take a look, and he discovered that the beam had been transected. He will be adding extra support by bracing the porch onto the columns. The porch will only be what you might say partially cantilevered, but it will be able to hold some FOFON – Fine Old Folks Of Newnan, and some young ones too!

The brick has eliminated a serious problem with water seeping into the crawl space. It also looks nice.

Mamaw and Pop came to visit and enjoyed a great burger at Meat N Greet.
The steps to the keeping room porch are going up slowly due to the rainy weather. We expect more rain all next week. Oh well…
